About Grace Fellowship Church
Grace Fellowship Church is located in Princeton IN, a block from downtown in a city of over 8,000. We are a "rural" church more than "urban", despite our central city location.
We believe God has a plan for Princeton IN and our church family. We are in search of a pastor/leader who can form a guiding vision and direction for our church family.
Someone ready and able to lead by example and discerningly challenge our congregation to grow in boldness and relationship with Jesus. They must be able to establish & maintain relationships while living a Godly lifestyle that draws others to Christ by the evidence of the Holy Spirit working in their life. It is our hope that they have a desire for kingdom advancement, provide teaching and guidance for our church, outreach for our community, and offer a path to salvation for the many lost people in our immediate area.
Duties - Responsibilities - Full Time
- Preaching, leadership, and guidance during Sunday worship services as the congregation seeks the Lord
- Prepares and maintains an outline for board meetings, follow-ups, and action items.
- Preside as a board chairperson of the local church board
- Administer Sacraments of the church, baptisms, etc.
- Perform weddings, dedications, and funerals when asked and able
- Allow and vet other ministers to perform these activities if needed or desired by families with board approval
- Community visitations required of sick, converts, prospects, shut-ins, etc. Offer new member classes based on interest and new converts
- Protect the flock from spiritual and physical danger through training and teaching or spiritual discernment, Godly council, policy, and disciple-making.
- Model Godly compassion and a grace and spirit-filled life.
- Model a dependence on God and his grace, not human wisdom.
Skills, Qualifications, and/or Requirements
- Currently ordained, or able to be ordained (path to ordination), Wesleyan/Nazarene/Armenian minister with a certification, degree, or equivalent work experience leading a church/group of 20-40 individuals
- Able to maintain Regular and healthy devotional life prayer, study, worship, and seeking the lord in all ways of life.
- Preaches the word of God and pursues a word/message from the Lord without cultural or traditional bias
- Able to explain the meaning of scripture and how it relates/applies to God the Father, Son, Holy Spirit, church history, cultural context, and today's followers of Christ.
- Able to manage the church's social media, and communication methods and maintain a public appearance in tandem with other congregation members
- Able to be a good financial steward and handle funds with integrity
- Able to model Godly compassion & comfort to others
- Able to model a dependence on God and his grace, and not in human wisdom.
- Competent with computer software/technology to manage church administrative duties efficiently in tandem with church lay leaders
- Able to encourage family households' participation together in church events in recognition of each member's importance in the role of God's body and family unit.
Compensation and Fringe Benefits
- Compensation - Salary, Housing, and other benefits - can be discussed upon interest/interview process
- Full Time - The pastor is expected and encouraged to maintain a personal sabbath for self-care and reprieve.
- Vacation - Two weeks paid vacation per year to start (this includes 2 weekends away from the demands of Sunday church leadership for refreshment.) This will require filling the pulpit on Sundays the pastor will be absent. Time away for other agreed-upon work, such as speaking at a camp/conference, teaching a ministerial class, etc., does not count as vacation time. Taking multiple weeks consecutively requires board approval.
